At the recent Auto Shanghai event, Aumovio showcased its commitment to a ‘market-for-the-market’ approach alongside several groundbreaking technologies tailored for Chinese consumers.

Philipp von Hirschheydt, a key member of Continental’s executive board and CEO of Automotive, emphasized the advantages of Aumovio’s independence. With a presence in China for over three decades and employing approximately 10,000 personnel, Continental’s automotive sector has significantly contributed to its global sales, with 14 percent of revenue generated in 2024 from this region alone. As the largest automotive market globally, China is anticipated to grow at a pace surpassing that of the overall global automotive market over the next five years. Continental has strategically expanded its local value chain to support both Chinese and international automotive manufacturers, focusing on local manufacturing, supply chains, and innovations.

At Auto Shanghai, Continental unveiled its latest driver assistance systems, Luna and Astra, developed in collaboration with Horizon Continental Technology specifically for the Chinese market. Luna enhances active safety and provides essential driving and parking functionalities, while Astra offers advanced assistance capabilities, including driving assistance without requiring high-resolution maps and memory function parking assistance.
